For all the Tottenham fans who have been disappointed with the North London derby loss, last night’s win over Dortmund was satisfying and the stadium update should be more good news for us.
To lose to Arsenal is a disappointment, especially considering how much we have improved over the past seasons. The Gunners fans may disagree and let’s give them this moment of happiness and concentrate on what’s happening in the stadium development part.
As we know, the new stadium is being constructed with a view to make it one of the best in Europe. Tottenham signed off from the White Hart Lane last year with a season-long unbeaten run and have taken Wembley as the temporary home.
Although there are worries about ‘Wembley myth’, the Lilywhites are doing their best to retain their winning streak from the old White Hart Lane. Truth be told, most of the fans are eagerly waiting for the new stadium to open. Slated to open for the beginning of next season, a video update of the progress has been posted for the benefit of all supporters. (spurs-web.com)
Highlights of the new progress include reports that the South Stand “Trees” are about to get installed. They are reportedly 49 meters in height once complete and will weigh 262 tonnes.
The report also indicates that framework has got a lot bigger on the new South Stand where a lot more steel has been installed. The video also puts fantastic views inside of the new stadium and the hotel complex building site.
Then, there are more glass panels that have reportedly been installed all around the stadium on the North, East, and West stands. The video signs off talking about the preparation work for the underground car and park sites.
There is still a lot more work to be done but the initial signs of the new stadium are bright, and the fans hope that the new stadium will live up to the lofty expectations.
