Tottenham Plot A Surprise Bid To Sign Midfielder From London Rivals – Report

Manuel Lanzini

Manuel Lanzini

Manuel Lanzini has been the player who has starred for West Ham for a couple of years. The 24-year-old Argentine was linked with a move to Liverpool at the start of the season as a replacement for Philippe Coutinho and now Ladbrokes claims that the creative player is a target for two of the biggest clubs in the world.

The report suggests that Tottenham want to sign the player in the winter window but will face tough competition from the likes of Atletico Madrid as well. We do have a bit of an advantage when it comes to signing Lanzini when compared to the La Liga side as the Argentine has settled well in London and would not have to move out of the city should he decide to join us.

Also, we have Mauricio Pochettino, who is one of the brightest managers in the world and Spurs are on the up when compared to Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid.

West Ham have had a terrible season so far and Lanzini hasn’t fared all that well too as he only has one goal to his name from 7 Premier League appearances. However, he still is one of the best players at West Ham and he could give us a lot of strength in depth, in the latter half of this season, especially with Mousa Dembele and Victor Wanyama struggling with injuries.

Lanzini can pick a lock when he pleases but he has to be more consistent. This is exactly what Pochettino would have to work on if he wants to get the best of his fellow Argentine after signing him.

It will be interesting to see if West Ham would allow one of their star players to leave but if things don’t shape up quickly under David Moyes, Lanzini could be one of the first players to leave the club for better opportunities.

Certainly looked good for England recently. Can’t see him being let go though (especially to Spurs).
