A brilliant brace from Harry Kane coupled with fine performances from Heung-Min Son and Christian Eriksen gave Tottenham an important 5-1 win over Mark Hughes’ Stoke City.
It all started for Tottenham in as early as the 21st min after Ryan Shawcross’ own goal gave them a lead. The Lilywhites took time to register the second goal but as soon as Son scored, a passage for the floodgates was opened. Harry Kane’s goal soon followed and it only took the Englishman 11 minutes to complete his brace before Christian Eriksen slotted home from Son’s brilliant pass.
A five-star performance from the Lilywhites, to say the least. Harry Kane, on his part, completed a half-century of goals for both Tottenham and England in 2017. Kane has achieved this benchmark in just 48 games. Furthermore, another feat Tottenham achieved is that they have become the first side in English top-flight history to win four consecutive league games against a single opponent (Stoke City) by at least four goals, having won each of their last three Premier League matches against Stoke by a 4-0.
Tottenham were clearly the dominant side as they enjoyed a whopping 71% of possession. Moreover, they registered 20 shots during the 90 minutes, 11 of which were on target.
And now with the win, Tottenham have jumped to 5th spot, level on points with Arsenal, with the Gunners yet to play Southampton tomorrow. A great evening for Tottenham and the fans, and this is how they all reacted to the brilliant performances of Son and Kane.
When Son is on form, he is one of the best players at the club. Pace, trickery, finishing. #KoreanRonaldo.
