Despite having a tough start to the new season, the 2015/16 PFA Player of the Year, Riyad Mahrez, has bounced back in absolute style. The Algerian struggled to get into his groove under Craig Shakespeare, but the appointment of Claude Puel has literally unleashed him to a whole new level.
In their opening 8 Premier League fixtures, the Foxes could only register one win but following the sacking of Claudio Ranieri’s heir Craig Shakespeare, results have been really positive and a major chunk of credit must go to Riyad Mahrez.
In 19 Premier League fixtures thus far, Mahrez has bagged 5 goals and 6 assists – one of which came in the 2-2 draw against Manchester United recently. The Algerian has really driven the Foxes and back to back positive results means they are safely out of relegation trouble for now. His form, this time again, hasn’t gone unnoticed and Tottenham fans, in particular, have raised their voices to the club’s hierarchy to sign the Algerian in the January transfer window.
Making a move midway through the season seems like an unrealistic event, but given Tottenham’s recent struggle, the idea is perfectly fair, to say the least. After 19 rounds of the Premier League fixtures, we are 5th on the log, just 7 points above 8th-placed Leicester and keeping our historic win over Real Madrid aside, we have hardly done anything noteworthy.
In their last 8 Premier League fixtures, Tottenham have just won 3 and have lost thrice, which suggests that we are missing that cutting edge this season. And to cover the deficit, Tottenham fans have urged Mauricio Pochettino to sign Riyad Mahrez as they “would love him at Spurs.” Here is how the fans reacted on Twitter:

They should've been all over Mahrez the last 2 summers. They invested £30m in fucking Sisssoko and £15m in Llorente.

Maybe its time to cash in on players like Dele Alli & Danny Rose, big egos who ain't preforming on the pitch anymore. Go out there and buy Ross Barkley, Riyid Mahrez and Moussa Dembele of Celtic #Spurs

If Tottenham go all out for Mahrez and someone with a lot of pace there's no reason we can't 100% get top 4 & far in the Champions League!!! I believe, to dare is to do!!!! #COYS
