Tottenham have reportedly submitted a £31million bid for Bordeaux attacker Malcom, who is currently being regarded as one of the most exciting young stars. Malcom, who is a target for Manchester United as well, has been in sensational form for the Ligue 1 side and his splendid displays have earned him quite a bit of attention from clubs across Europe. A highly-rated youngster, he could prove to be a coup for us and at 20 years of age, he does look like quite the ideal long-term signing. He has been a key player for Bordeaux this season and they could be hesitant to let him leave but at the same time, Tottenham will hope the bid changes their mind.

He began his career with Corinthians and made his way through the ranks to integrate himself with the first-team back in 2014. He enjoyed a decent spell with the club and then moved to Bordeaux in 2016. The player is extremely versatile and it is a quality that is likely to impress a lot of managers. No team can ever have too many versatile attackers, which does explain why interest is pouring in from all quarters.

Playing primarily as a right-winger this season, Malcom has scored 7 goals and 4 assists for the French side this season and his current contract runs until 2021. However, the player could receive greater opportunities with Spurs. Considering the fact that we have the likes of Harry Kane, Heung-Min Son, Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen, Malcom could slot right in and provide some much-needed depth.

Moreover, Pochettino is known for extracting the best out of talented youngsters and Malcom does boast of immense potential. He does have considerable experience at the top-level and could be a valuable addition for Tottenham. Although £31million does seem a bit expensive, it is important to note that top young talents do cost that much.
