Arsenal and Tottenham transfer target Malcom recently admitted that it would be a dream for him to play in the Premier League and this has further sparked rumours of a potential January exit from Bordeaux.

With Alexis Sanchez set to undergo a medical at Manchester United on Sunday, as per Sky Sports, the Gunners have reportedly earmarked the Brazil U-23 International as a potential replacement for the Chilean. But as they are getting Henrikh Mkhitaryan as a part of a straight swap deal and are also working on the prospect of signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, they have reportedly decided to drop their interest in Malcom.

Prior to Alexis Sanchez’s interest, Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United were also interested in Malcom but that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore. And now, according to the Telegraph, Tottenham Hotspur have emerged as the favourites to land the 20-year-old forward for an initial fee believed to be around €40million (£35.3m).

The source continues that Malcom’s representatives have already met Spurs’ hierarchy in London earlier this week and even if a deal is agreed upon, the 20-year-old would stay at Bordeaux for the rest of this season, before joining Spurs in the summer. Giving a potential breakdown, the Telegraph quotes that Spurs are expected to pay an initial €40m, which may increase by another €10m (£8.8m) with add-ons.

With all this being the recent happenings, Malcom was asked about his potential move to North London and he said that he would love to move to England if a move does transpire.

“I do not know if I will be staying or leaving. I leave that to my agents, to the club. If I leave that is great, I thank the club for everything,” he told reporters after his side’s 1-0 win over Nantes, as quoted by the Mirror.

“That is life. These are choices. There you go. Now we will see. If I have to stay, I will stay. If I am to leave, then I will leave. So long as I am here, I will do my work.

“Is England a dream? Yes it is a dream, it is a dream for all players and I am no different. As I said, I am here, I must think about working and nothing else. I must not think about leaving now.”

Do you think Malcom can improve our attacking strength if the deal does go through in the summer?
