Tottenham target summer move for prolific 18-year-old German sensation – reports

published :

Jann-Fiete Arp

Tottenham Hotspur will reportedly continue their interest in young Hamburg sensation Jann-Fiete Arp. With the January window closed, Pochettino could land the youngster in the upcoming summer window, according to Bild. Spurs could make a renewed attempt to acquire his signature. He has been subjected to interest from a lot of clubs but Tottenham have been monitoring him for quite some time and could, therefore, have an upper edge in landing him.

The 18-year-old sensation has been in phenomenal form for the Bundesliga outfit and could work wonders at any club he may join. Our gaffer is quite well known for developing young talents and Arp could be no different if we manage to sign him in the near future. Known for his blistering pace and finishing skills, Arp is stellar in the final third and there seems to be no end to his goalscoring exploits this season.

He has appeared 10 times for Hamburg’s first-team this season, during which he has managed to score 2 goals. A thorough-bred attacker, Arp boasts of exactly the kind of talent that Pochettino loves having at Tottenham. Arp works hard and has a mature reading of the game which often translates to effective decision-making on the field. There are very few people who can have such an impact on a team and yet the 18-year-old seems to be breaking all sorts of barriers this season.

Although Harry Kane has been spectacular for us, it will certainly not hurt to have a young and talented player like Arp in the ranks. Arp could be the ultimate backup striker and could perhaps take over the mantle from Kane some day. There will be plenty of other suitors for him as well but Pochettino must do everything within his measure to sign Arp as an investment for the future. This is a deal we must most definitely pursue and even if it costs us quite a bit, it will be worth it one day.
