“Best striker in the world”, “Become a true Spurs legend” Tottenham jubilant after Kane’s phenomenal achievement

Harry Kane joined the 100-goal club of the Premier League after his dramatic last-gasp penalty earned us a point against Liverpool. The Tottenham striker missed a late penalty in normal time and appeared to have blown his team’s chances when Mohamed Salah scored at the other end with what looked likely to be the winner.

But when Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk brought Erik Lamela down in the penalty box, it presented Kane with a glorious chance to make amends for his missed spot-kick. This time though, he made no mistake, rifling the shot into the bottom right corner to create headlines and relief for all the Spurs fans.

The England international took just 141 games to reach the milestone, only behind Alan Shearer, who needed 124 matches.

“I was nervous,” Kane was quoted by the Washington Post.

“It was a big moment, with a lot of pressure. But I stuck to the routine. It’s great to be in that 100 club now, and it’s great to get something from the game after that roller-coaster of emotions.”

Kane became the 26th player to reach 100 Premier League goals, moving to second place ahead of Sergio Aguero (147) in the list of fastest centurions. The striker not only reached the 100-goal mark in the Premier League on Sunday but also kept Spurs in the race for a top-four place.

The fans were jubilant to see one of our own stars create history and headlines at Anfield. Here is how our fanbase reacted to Kane’s achievement.
