Cristiano Ronaldo confident that Tottenham’s 33-goal superstar will join him at Real Madrid – reports

Cristiano Ronaldo

According to Spanish source Don Balon, Cristiano Ronaldo is confident that Harry Kane will end up leaving us and join Real Madrid at the end of the season.

Karim Benzema is likely to end up leaving Madrid at the end of the season as he has been disappointing this season. Madrid have reportedly identified our goal-machine as the perfect replacement for the Frenchman. Benzema has scored just twice so far in the La Liga from 16 games and this has coincided with Madrid’s poor form as they trail leaders Barcelona by a massive 20 points.

The same report claims that Madrid could also offer Spurs one of their star players in order to bring Kane to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Kane is definitely the best striker in the world and has gone on to score 33 goals from 34 games for us this season. He is also in line to win the Premier League’s golden boot award for a third consecutive season but could face strong competition from Liverpool’s Mo Salah.

Harry Kane

This report certainly implies that Ronaldo has faith in his club president Florentino Perez and also rates Kane highly. Though Madrid have pulled off big transfers in the past, having signed Luka Modric and Gareth Bale from us during recent years, they are not invincible as was shown by their failure to sign David De Gea from Manchester United.
Unlike Modric and Bale, Kane is a product of our youth development system and as such, he wants to help us win major honours.

Madrid will face a tougher time convincing Kane to join them than what they faced during their pursuits of Modric and Bale. It is hard to see Kane leaving us at this point. He will surely want to spend a few more years at his boyhood club, if not his entire career.

However, if we continue failing to win silverware, he could consider leaving us within the next three years when he hits the peak of his career.
