According to a report published by The Sun, we could attempt to land Watford duo Richarlison and Abdoulaye Doucoure during the summer.
The 20-year-old Richarlison joined the Hornets from Brazilian club Fluminense during the summer and he has so far proven to be one of the best young players in the Premier League as he has gone on to score 5 goals, providing 4 assists from 27 appearances.
It is perhaps just a matter of time before the talented youngster leaves Watford and joins a club which can challenge for honours.
Doucoure has also been in good form this season and has topped the goalscoring charts for the Hornets this season with several goals.
He is another player who would have certainly caught the attention of many clubs through his performances and is likely to weigh up his options at the end of the season.
The report published by the Sun added that we are prepared to pay £50million for the dynamic Watford duo. Should we pull this off, it will be a major coup as £50million in today’s game for in-form players is a bargain.
It is very hard to see Watford accepting such an offer. They are two of Watford’s most important players and so the Hornets will surely not let them go easily. Daniel Levy and our board are likely to be informed that they must pay a heavier price in order to be taken seriously.
Both players are likely to be tempted to join us as they will see an increase in wages while also getting the opportunity to play alongside more talented teammates and challenge for major silverware.
Mauricio Pochettino will be looking to bolster his options during the summer and considering their form this season, Doucoure and Richarlison will be worthwhile additions.
Richarlison is a winger and I don’t see how he’s fit in here at the club. However, he’s an obvious quality, is young and why not take a chance on him given that we’re short of players in the wide areas.
Doucoure has been brilliant for Watford this season and would be a perfect long-term replacement for Mousa Dembele.
