Tottenham fans have been mainly downbeat this week after the clubs recent 2-2 draw with minnows Rochdale in the FA Cup fifth round on Sunday after Steve Davis managed to score a goal against us during stoppage time.

Though we are still in the Cup, the performances raise concerns as it was the second time that we have failed to beat minnows in the FA Cup this season.

Amidst the thrills of a topsy-turvy season, the fans can be relieved about one thing. Defender Davinson Sanchez has quashed all the rumours by insisting that he’s committed to us.  The 21-year-old only came to us during the summer and has so far had an impressive season. He has been linked with a move to Real Madrid in recent times, with Los Blancos set to undergo a major squad overhaul during the summer due to their underwhelming form this season.

However, Sanchez has rejected the claims and this means that the talented youngster is now unlikely to leave us during the summer.

He was quoted by Goal as saying:

“I do not think about money or where it is. Right now, here in Tottenham I am very good. I am playing every three to four days. I am being important in the team. As big as Madrid is, no matter how big a team are, that has won what they have won, if the conditions are not favourable for me, unfortunately I cannot accept.”

Sanchez is an important part of our squad and is a key aspect of our future plans as well. He’ll be a defensive mainstay in the years to come and there’s a reason why we spent big on signing him.

Media still don’t understand that our plans have changed and that we are not a feeder club anymore. If Real Madrid want our players, then they can keep dreaming as Tottenham are set for bigger and better things, starting from the new stadium construction.
