BT Sport Pundit Chris Sutton has told that he would prefer Tottenham Hotspur’s Son Heung-min over Manchester United’s Alexis Sanchez. Son has been in sensational form for Spurs this season and again demonstrated his class on Sunday as he bagged a brace in a 4-1 Tottenham win at Bournemouth.
On Saturday, United enjoyed a fantastic afternoon as they beat Liverpool 2-1 at Old Trafford, though January signing Sanchez dished out another lacklustre display. Both Spurs and United won at the weekend and look set to finish in the top four this campaign.
A player turned pundit, Chris Sutton has told that he would select Spurs’ Son ahead of United’s Sanchez all day long if he had the choice.
“If I was a Premier League manager, I would take Son Heung-min over Alexis Sanchez every day of the week,” Sutton wrote in his column for the Daily Mail.
“We talk about how influential Harry Kane is for Tottenham but Son is the next best thing. He has energised Mauricio Pochettino’s team.
“Everything he does is with a huge smile on his face. Contrast this with Sanchez, who often cuts a moody and sulky figure when he does not get his way.
“Think of the aggravation he gave Arsenal before his move to Manchester United. There is no such hassle with Son.
“Pochettino has asked him to play in a number of different positions but he gives Spurs everything regardless.
“He is the model professional in every respect. Tottenham fell behind at Bournemouth and Kane went off injured, but Son put in a fine performance as a central striker. We are yet to see such a match-winning display from £600,000-a-week Sanchez at Old Trafford.
“Son has scored seven goals in his last four games while the Chilean has found the net just once in nine for United. It is clear to see which manager is getting the better value for money.”
It is a bold claim from Sutton that he would prefer Son over Sanchez as we all know the Chilean is considered as one of the best players in the Premier League.
But there will be a set of fans who won’t be surprised by Sutton’s preference of Son as the South Korean has been simply terrific for our club this season.
