Tottenham Hotspur expect striker Harry Kane to be back in training next month. He should return to action in about four weeks after a scan revealed the extent of the injury he suffered at Bournemouth on Sunday.
The club took to their official Twitter page yesterday to announce:
“Preliminary assessments have confirmed that @HKane has damaged lateral ligaments in his right ankle.”
“The England striker sustained the injury following a challenge in our 4-1 win over Bournemouth on Sunday and is expected to return to First Team training next month.”
The 24-year-old was out for two separate spells last season with injuries to the same ankle. He missed six weeks when he first injured his right ankle in the 1-0 win over Sunderland in September last season.
Kane injured the same ankle again during a 6-0 win over Millwall in the FA Cup in March 2017, missing four Premier League games.
The recent ankle injury would see the striker first miss the upcoming game at Swansea in the FA Cup on Saturday. He is also expected to miss the majority of Spurs’ remaining fixtures.
Above all, Kane will be unable to make it to Gareth Southgate’s squad for this month’s friendlies against the Netherlands and Italy. The England manager names his squad today and will have to do it without his talismanic striker, Kane.
The update consoles the Spurs fans who worried that Kane could be out until May. After our club tweeted the news, here is how the Spurs fanbase reacted to it.

Bit ambiguous. Could be 1st April or 30th. Why not just say it’ll be 4-6 weeks 🙄

Apparently its more similar to the Millwall injury where he only missed 3 games and was back in 4 weeks

knowing our injury luck, he’ll to training on the 30th April

If it makes this whole thing easier can I just donate my right ankle to him?

Not as bad as first thought – Haven’t got a PL game for a couple of weeks, will only miss a couple of games however does include Chelsea & City. Sure we can manage, we’re a team, not an individual & we did so last year too. COYS
