According to Evening Standard, Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is making excellent progress as he battles his way back to full fitness from injury.
The England international damaged the ligaments in his right ankle before the international break and Spurs, earlier this month, said that he would return in April. Kane injured his right ankle in Spurs’ victory against Bournemouth on March 11, which prevented him from featuring in England’s friendlies against the Netherlands and Italy.
Despite the way Kane’s ankle is healing, it is not known whether the striker will recover in time to play a part against Chelsea on Sunday, reports the Evening Standard.
The Evening Standard claims that Kane was asked to report for training on Wednesday at a different time from the rest of his colleagues, which indicates that he was not fully ready to train with his teammates.
The report adds there is still a training session plus two more drills before the London derby on Sunday. If Kane fails to rejoin his teammates before Saturday, it is highly unlikely he would feature against Antonio Conte’s Blues, reports the Evening Standard.
Kane’s absence represents a huge blow to Spurs, who are aiming to win at Stamford Bridge for the first time since 1990.
Even if Kane fails to make it to the squad, we do have other options available. Let’s just hope we beat Chelsea this weekend and cement our top-4 spot.
