As per a report from Daily Express, Tottenham Hotspur are keeping an eye on Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes. The same report has claimed that Barcelona are increasingly keen on acquiring Christian Eriksen’s services this summer and if the deal goes through, Mauricio Pochettino will require a replacement.
The 23-year-old Fernandes has been in astonishing form for the Portuguese outfit and has contributed a total of 13 goals and 9 assists so far. He is versatile and can play across a variety of attacking positions which is likely to appeal to our gaffer. Furthermore, Fernandes is a solid counter-attacking threat and is very fluid with his well-timed crosses and passes.
He also expected to play a key role for Portugal in the highly-anticipated FIFA World Cup this summer. All in all, he seems like a good choice for Spurs and although Christian Eriksen has been a loyal player over the years, we will need cover if he chooses to leave.
He has been a crucial part of Pochettino’s plans at Tottenham and it remains to be seen if Daniel Levy agrees to sanction a sale.
That said, a move for Fernandes is likely to cost us quite a bit. As per a report from Portuguese outfit A Bola, the talented attacker is valued at a whopping £87million.
