Tottenham face competition from Chelsea for the signature of the highly-rated Jann-Fiete Arp

Jann Fiete Arp

As per a report from Bild (h/t Talksport), Chelsea have joined Tottenham in the race to sign Jann-Fiete Arp. The teenage forward has caused ripples of excitement across the football community due to his incredible performances and if the report is to be believed, Spurs are keen on acquiring his signature this summer.

With Hamburg looking increasingly likely to get relegated from the Bundesliga by the end of this season, it would be tough for them to hold on to Arp. The striker also has only a year left on his current contract, meaning this seems like the ideal situation to cash in on him.

At Tottenham, Harry Kane has been the go-to striker for a while now and can anybody blame us? The man is simply unstoppable and there are no limits to what he can achieve.

Although Heung-min Son has filled in for Kane during his absence, it might not hurt us to sign another natural striker.

At 18 years of age, Arp might not boast of experience or adequate technical knowledge but he is skilled and Mauricio Pochettino is known to be one of the best at helping young stars reach their true potential.

All in all, this deal looks like a good one for us but the only stumbling block could be Chelsea. They are more than capable of shelling out a lot of money to sign him but as seen in Davinson Sanchez’s case, Daniel Levy can drop a load when the player is truly worth it. Let’s hope he does the same for Arp.
