Tottenham are interested in Cologne attacker Leonardo Bittencourt, according to German publication Kicker.
The report claims that we are keeping an eye on the 24-year-old midfielder as his club tries hard to avoid relegation from the Bundesliga.
Bittencourt has scored just a couple of goals for Cologne this season and has three assists to his name. The German can play across the midfield and even on the wings, which makes him a versatile player.
The report further goes on to say that Bittencourt would be available for a cut-price of just £7million in the summer should his current club get relegated to the second division.
It isn’t just us who are looking to sign the German as Monaco are also interested in the 24-year-old. Bittencourt has played for a number of Bundesliga clubs and has had stints with Cottbus, Borussia Dortmund and Hannover 96, with Cologne being his latest club.
Bittencourt has also represented Germany at two youth levels, the U19 and U21 age groups but is yet to make it to the senior side.
The 24-year-old is known for his ability to finish but he isn’t great when it comes to passing or winning duels in the air.
Cologne Are In Deep Trouble
Bittencourt’s future would be decided based on how Cologne finish the season. Currently, the side lies 17th, which is an automatic relegation spot. With six games left to play in the season, they are six points behind 16th placed Mainz, which is a playoff spot.
Bittencourt’s cut-price might interest a few buyers should they go down but for now, it will be interesting to see if he can pull his current side out of their relegation woes.
