Tottenham are keeping tabs on one of Italian football’s hotshots, Bryan Cristante, according to a report carried by the Telegraph.
The report claims that the 23-year-old Benfica star is a target for Mauricio Pochettino in the summer. Cristante, who is an Italian, has played in 40 games this season for his loan club Atalanta and has scored 11 times this season.
The Italian is being linked with us due to a problem with Mousa Dembele’s contract. Dembele wants a three-year deal but will not discuss a new deal until after the World Cup. His contract runs out this summer.
The 23-year-old Cristante mostly plays in the heart of the park, although he can play as an attacking midfielder too. Cristante has scored in a number of big games this season.
The midfielder was on target when Everton took on Atalanta in the Europa League. Cristante scored in both legs of their group games. The 23-year-old also scored in games against Napoli, AC Milan and Juventus too.
Cristante was the star of the show when Atalanta faced Everton at Goodison Park, which the away side won 5-1. The Italian scored a brace on that day and the player is not only known for his finishing but also for his aerial ability and dribbling.
The Benfica man has also made a couple of appearances for the Italian national side and has spent a lot of time on loan at clubs such as Pescara and Palermo.
This season has seen Cristante come out with his best return of 11 goals and with a few games still left in the season, the 23-year-old could add a few more goals to his name.
Atalanta are 8th in the Serie A at the moment and it will be interesting to see what Cristante’s parent club, Benfica do with him in the summer.
