According to the Sun, Leicester City are ready to buy Norwich starlet James Maddison at the end of the season as Riyad Mahrez’s replacement. The Sun claims that Tottenham Hotspur and Huddersfield also remain big admirers of Maddison.

The report says that the Foxes would have to pay £17million for the 21-year-old attacking midfielder, who has lighted the Championship this season. Maddison is one of the most sought-after Championship stars and has the potential to achieve bigger things in his career.

The midfielder has won rave reviews after assisting and scoring goals for fun this season in the Championship. That form has led to a number of Premier League big boys taking an interest in the England Under-21s international, with Leicester City leading the race to acquire his signature, the Sun adds.

The report claims that Norwich are likely to sell Maddison to the highest bidder, after an underwhelming campaign in the second tier of English football. The Canaries are stuck in 12th place in the Championship despite Maddison’s brilliant season.

With Spurs also credited with an interest in the midfielder, Mauricio Pochettino just cannot afford to lose out on one of the brightest talents in English football.

Maddison is highly talented and is a promising young attacker. He would be a fantastic addition to the current Spurs side.

Since arriving at Spurs, Pochettino has developed the youngsters by trusting and giving them a lot of opportunities. Leicester remain ahead of the other English clubs but Spurs must do everything to acquire the services of Maddison in the summer transfer window.
