According to a report by ESPN, Tottenham are eyeing a summer swoop for Demarai Gray. The report has also claimed that the Leicester City winger is unhappy with the lack of starts he has received this season and is looking to exit the club once the summer transfer window commences.
Despite going through a slew of ups and downs, the Foxes find themselves in a good place under Claude Puel. However, despite showing promising signs, Gray has been able to start just 14 Premier League games this season. He has made 16 more appearances but they have been off the bench.
The player has also managed to make a decent contribution of 3 goals and a solitary assist and though that does not sound all that impressive, there is no denying the England U21 captain’s potential and skills. At the right place and under the right manager, Gray can work wonders and he can surely develop further at Tottenham.
Our gaffer, Mauricio Pochettino, has built a team filled with young English blood and going by that narrative, Gray will fit right in at Tottenham.
If we are to make a solid title challenge next season, we will need all hands on deck and an attacker like Gray can help us go a long way. Furthermore, the player is extremely versatile and can play in a variety of positions even though he is primarily a winger.
Thus, a move for him could benefit us in the long run but regular starts might not be guaranteed.
