As per a report from The Telegraph, Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy will be “under pressure” to sign Wilfried Zaha from Crystal Palace this summer. After the disappointing loss to Manchester United in the FA Cup semi-final on our temporary home turf, Mauricio Pochettino’s controversial “with me or another” comments balled up into a fresh controversy.

As quoted by BBC, our gaffer spoke about how the club needs more time to get to the top-level and he also indicated that we have a long way to go regardless of whether or not he continues as the manager.

However, Pochettino’s impact at the club is undeniable and it is important for us to retain his services. That said, the squad we have at hand is not powerful enough to compete at all levels and The Telegraph claims that our gaffer’s comments could prompt Levy to drop a few extra bundles of cash this summer.

Known for his stringent purse strings, Levy splurged quite a bit last summer to sign Davinson Sanchez and the move has truly paid off dividends.

However, The Telegraph has stated that Zaha is “near the top of this summer’s wishlist” and if Spurs are to put up better performances next term, a promising player like Zaha could help them in that regard.

He has been a beacon of hope throughout Palace’s many ups and downs this season. The 25-year-old has contributed a total of 7 goals and 2 assists in 26 Premier League appearances so far and he stands out due to his blistering pace and movement in the final third.

Although he has primarily played as a centre-forward for the club throughout this campaign, Zaha is incredibly versatile and can play the role of a wide attacker as well.

As we need squad depth, the former Manchester United flop can help elevate our performances. However, he will not face a shortage of suitors and it remains to be seen if Levy can compete financially.
