Harry Kane might not be winning a trophy this season but the Englishman is being linked with a move away from Tottenham by former Real Madrid chief Ramon Calderon.
The striker has scored 37 goals for us in all competitions this season but couldn’t get on the score sheet last week as we were knocked out of the FA Cup by Manchester United.
However, Calderon, while speaking to The Sun, stated that the La Liga giants would make Kane one of their priorities.
“The objective for Real Madrid, no doubt, is Kane.
“If they want a player for the next five or six years they are going to go for Kane but [Spurs chairman Daniel] Levy is going to ask a fortune for him.”
The former chief also added that we are not willing to sell our talisman and compared our situation with that of Bayern Munich and Robert Lewandowski.
“As far as I know, Tottenham is not willing to let him go but Bayern also say Lewandowski is not going anywhere.”
Kane could still end up winning the Golden Boot for the third season in a row if he can catch Mohamed Salah but the Egyptian seems to be hitting the net regularly and even scored in the Champions League semi-final against Roma.
The Englishman, however, can look forward to spearheading the England national side in the World Cup. Losing Kane would be a huge blow for our side given that replacing the Englishman will be a difficult task which would also cost us a lot of money.
Kane has been a near perfect fit for us over the past few years and even if Real offer a record sum for the striker, we should try to rebuff them and keep the striker with us for as long as possible.
