For a long time now, Tottenham Hotspur have had to play without the likes of Harry Winks and Danny Rose. The former showed initial promise but an ankle injury has sidelined him since last year.
As far as Rose is concerned, he has been fighting hard for a starting spot but his lack of form and injury woes have not made it easy for him.
Ahead of the game against Watford on Monday night, Mauricio Pochettino provided an update on the conditions of both these players.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference, as reported by Football London, our gaffer said:
“Harry Winks is out. Danny Rose is going to join the team tomorrow, starting to train with the group tomorrow. We’ll see in the next few days.”
If Rose can convince Poch in the training sessions, he might get a chance to feature against Watford. The game time will certainly prove to be beneficial for him with the season coming to an end.
As things stand, fighting to seal our place in the top-four is the best we can do for now and it is important for the left-back to make a comeback.
As far as Winks is concerned, the situation continues to be quite dire. Football London claims that he is back after undergoing treatment in Qatar recently but the injury will certainly act as a dampener to his chances of making it to the upcoming FIFA World Cup in Russia.
