A top-four finish was not sealed by Tottenham despite playing against a side that should be relegated before the final game of the season. Spurs were up against West Bromwich Albion and a late goal from Jake Livermore kept us in 4th place with just two games of the season left.
Tottenham dominated possession and should have been up by at least a couple of goals but it was a scrappy finish at the end of the game that gave West Brom some hope of surviving the drop.
It is a frustrating result for us as we could have leapfrogged Liverpool into 3rd place with a win but we will be now looking over our shoulders should Chelsea pick up three points against the Reds on Sunday.
Twitter too was filled with unhappy and frustrated reactions from the game and here is a selection of the same.
Spurs’ form since it was announced Levy was earning more than many of the players…
Stoke – unconvincing win
Man City – meek defeat
Brighton – uninspiring draw
United – lost with a whimper
Watford – unconvincing win
West Brom – pathetic defeat— James Maw (@JamesMawFFT) May 5, 2018
Spurs were in great form before they decided one goal for Kane is more important than their team staying focused. If it were some other team, we’d have been told that decision damaged them. But as the manager and player get free PR from English media, we will just smile and wave.

Ever since Kane threw his toys out the pram and robbed that goal Spurs have completely fallen apart.
Weird that, robbing a goal off a team mate has ruined team spirit isn’t it🙄😱

20 – Spurs have now lost 20 Premier League games thanks to goals scored in the 90th minute – more than any other side in the competition. Drama. #WBATOT

Had to summon every bit of willpower I have not to go on a massive rant. So. Just this.
Dear Spurs:
You want us to believe you’re different from our teams before? That YOU Poch are taking us up another level? Then bloody well PROVE it. Win when it ACTUALLY MATTERS #COYS #Spursy— Emma Storey (@SpursStorey) May 5, 2018
that was spurs worst performance all season… is what i woulda said if that wasn’t our plan to keep wba in the prem 😎

What’s impossible to understand is the rush to have brought Moura in on the last day of the January window with the player to have barely seen any game-time.
Don’t understand the logic of how the winger can adapt to this league quicker without minutes on the pitch.#THFC #COYS

That was largely a mess. Harry Kane shouldn’t be starting football matches in this state and definitely shouldn’t be playing 90 minutes. Too many touches, too many heavy touches and too slow on the move.

Can anyone at the game explain how we lost that?! #COYS #WBAvTHFC
