Tottenham’s £75,000-a-week superstar on Man United’s radar as Mourinho leads the race

Manchester United are plotting a move for our Danish star Christian Eriksen according to Transfermarketweb (h/t The Express). The report suggests that Jose Mourinho is the man spearheading the move but could face competition from a couple of European giants.

Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain are also tracking the former Ajax man according to the report and the Dane has had a pretty good season with us this time around.

Eriksen joined us from Ajax in 2013 and has slowly become one of the best attacking midfielders in the Premier League. The 26-year-old, who currently earns £75,000-a-week, has scored 10 goals and has the same number of assists to his name from 35 Premier League games this season.

Tottenham have been one of the most impressive sides to watch as we have developed into title challengers under Mauricio Pochettino. However, our habit of falling short could be a reason why we could lose out on a few players in the summer.

We have failed to win any trophies under the Argentine manager and with no trophies this season either, moving to another club with a greater chance of winning titles could be inviting to some players.

Eriksen, for his part, has become an integral member of the side and losing him would be a huge blow for the side. It will be really difficult to replace the Dane as his link-up play with Harry Kane and Dele Alli has been one reason why we have actually been one of the best sides in England.

Hopefully, we can keep Eriksen at the club for a few more years and the best way to ensure that is by picking up a trophy next season.
