Dele Alli has come out and stated that his Tottenham teammates are like family and that he does not want to let them down.

The England international was reflecting on a season where we finished 3rd and put in some great performances, especially in the UEFA Champions League.

The former MK Dons man was quoted by the official club website where he claimed that the team proved they are a top side even though we had to deal with tough situations this season.

“I think we’ve showed our mentality and togetherness, with the fans as well.

“It’s been a difficult season at times but we’ve showed we’re a top team, we’re improving and we’re going to continue improving.”

The youngster also added how each player is trying to get better at the club and how great the atmosphere is between the players, especially when facing tough opponents.

“That’s why the team is doing so well, players want to improve together and individually, we all want to improve as well and become better people on and off the pitch.

“Everyone is working hard every day to get the best out of each other and the best out of themselves.

“Everyone gets on so well. There is a great mixture of ages, it’s great.

“It’s very important and that shows in games as well, when you go into difficult places and your team-mates…when they are like family you know you can put all your trust in them and you don’t want to let them down.”

Alli scored 14 goals and provided 14 assists in all competitions for us and played a huge role in our Champions League run, which ended in a disappointing fashion as we were knocked out by Juventus.

Even though the season did not end up with us picking up a trophy, this still can be considered a decent one since we finished third and also progressed beyond the group stage of the Champions League.

Hopefully, next season, we can go one better in almost every competition and end up winning a title or two. That would be the perfect way to prove our growth under Mauricio Pochettino and also lay down a great foundation for a number of years.
