According to RMC Sport, Tottenham Hotspur are intent on a summer move for Marseille winger Florian Thauvin, who lit up Ligue 1 with his performances last term.
The pacy attacker has caught the fancy of a few clubs with his swashbuckling displays and the French news outlet claims that the likes of Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid are also looking for a possible deal.
Over the course of last season, Thauvin managed to contribute a whopping 25 goals and 13 assists across competitions as Marseille finished just one spot behind Lyon in the Ligue 1 standings. In addition to his goals and assists, the 25-year-old also created 68 chances in 31 French top-flight appearances, which shows his creative skills.
Interestingly, Thauvin has prior Premier League experience from a not-so-great spell with Newcastle United. In fact, he was labelled as a failure by many at that point but it looks like the player has turned things around for himself in a remarkable manner.
Given his skills, Thauvin could be a valuable addition to any side. The Frenchman will not only add depth to our attack but also provide competition to the likes of Christian Eriksen and Heung-min Son.
However, RMC further claims that Marseille are working towards offering him a new contract. His current deal runs until the summer of 2021 but it comes as no surprise that the French outfit are looking to ward off potential suitors.
It remains to be seen if Mauricio Pochettino and co are successful in their attempt to lure Thauvin to this side of London but if they do, it will be a brilliant deal.
