As per a report by The Telegraph, Real Madrid are expected to make an attempt to sign Mauricio Pochettino after Zinedine Zidane’s shock resignation.
The entire footballing community was shocked upon hearing the news but Real owner Florentino Perez will have to work towards finding a new manager before the new season commences. After Zidane’s success at the club, it will be tough to find a replacement but The Telegraph claims that Los Blancos have their eyes on Pochettino.
Pochettino has been crucial to Tottenham’s success over the years and we cannot afford to lose him. In fact, he has turned us into one of the most consistent sides in the Premier League. While it is true that we have not won major trophies in recent times, if there is anybody who can get us to the next level, it’s Pochettino.
Thus, Tottenham must do everything they can to ward off potential interest. The club management did make him a new contract which runs until 2023 and that is an encouraging sign.
Meanwhile, our fellow supporters on Twitter had a lot to say about the issue and here are some of the best reactions:
Pochettino says he is very happy at Tottenham and it would be disrespectful to leave. Can you report this please @SkySportsNews

#thfc Levy's decision to get Pochettino signed up to that new 5-year contract right at the start of the summer is looking smarter by the day.

No verbal agreement, no written agreement. New contract and Very Happy at Tottenham. Can't wait for the "Pochettino to leave spurs" headlines to somehow repeat again later 🙄
