Tottenham could make a move for Watford attacker Richarlison should they not be able to pry away Wilfried Zaha from Crystal Palace according to the Mirror.
The report claims that Spurs have had a long-standing interest in the 21-year-old and that his club would be looking at a minimum of £40million to consider selling Richarlison.
There is another club looking to sign the Brazilian up and that is Everton, thanks to former Hornets manager Marco Silva joining them in the summer.
However, the report also claims that Watford have no interest in dealing with Everton over their earlier approach to sign Silva and will not sell their star for any price whatsoever.
Richarlison scored 5 goals and provided 4 assists for the Hornets but his first half of the campaign was miles better than the second half as his club slid down the table.
A quality addition to the Spurs side but Richarlison is not the finished article
The 21-year-old has shown glimpses of what he can do but he can be a frustrating player too. Richarlison would probably end up sitting on the bench at Tottenham should we sign the player as it will be difficult to replace Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli or Son Heung-min from the starting XI.
Also, spending £40million or more on a player that still requires a lot of work before being claimed as “world-class” might stretch our transfer kitty a lot.
However, if we are comparing Zaha to Richarlison, there is no doubt that the Palace man would be a better bet for Spurs. Heis the better player among the two, thanks to his exploits in keeping the Eagles in the Premier League this past season.
