Boost for Pochettino as striker snubs Germany interest to remain with Tottenham

Reo Griffiths

There could be some good news on the cards for Spurs fans as one of our rising youth team players, Reo Griffiths, is staying at the club, according to the Evening Standard.

The report claims that the 17-year-old was linked with a move away to Germany, like a number of talented English youngsters but has decided to sign a professional contract and stay at Tottenham.

The youngster was worried about his progress to the first-team given that we already have a star in Harry Kane. However, it seems we are willing to first see how he performs in the U23s and then think about moving him to the main squad.

Griffiths had been in incredible form for the U16s at one stage as he scored over 30 goals for us in that age group. The youngster was also subject of a transfer rumour linking him with a move to Barcelona, as the Spanish giants were looking to make a move when the striker turned 18.

An option for the future that Spurs have to keep

This might come as a bit of a relief to us as we can keep Griffiths and fully check out his capabilities as he moves from one age group to another.

The U23s will be a tougher task for the youngster but if he plays the same way as he has done for the other age groups, we might have another top striker in our midst.

There is no doubt that working under Mauricio Pochettino is the best way ahead for the youngster and hopefully, the Argentine can work his magic and help Griffiths progress to the first-team.
