Former Director of Football at Tottenham plans to raid Spurs for highly-rated English wonder kid

published :

Samuel Shashoua

Turkish giants Fenerbahce are planning a radical change in their transfer dealings after Ali Koc was elected as the president reports Turkish Football.

The first phase of the change sees Damien Comolli being hired as the sporting director of the club and the transfer policy will now see the club look to create a bunch of talented youngsters in the side and not sign experienced players who are in their 30’s.

One player Comolli is interested in is Tottenham’s Samuel Shashoua. Comolli, who had worked in a similar capacity for Spurs a few years ago, will be looking to set up a network to bring quality youngsters to Turkey.

Shashoua hasn’t broken into the first-team at Tottenham but has performed well for the reserves, scoring 3 goals and providing a couple of assists in 24 games last season.

The England U18 player is comfortable playing as a striker or on the wings but still has a couple of years remaining on his current Spurs contract, according to the report.

Comolli is the perfect man to take talent away from Tottenham, thanks to his three years at the club and if he does offer a few youngsters the chance to play first-team football, it would be hard to say no to them.

Shashoua might not have been one of the players to get regular mentions of making it to the first-team and with so many talented youngsters already at the club, it might make sense for the 19-year-old to move to another team and try to make a name for himself.

The Englishman would not be the first young Spurs player to be linked with a move away in the summer after Marcus Edwards was linked with a move away too.
