Over the years, Tottenham Hotspur’s academy has been notorious for producing and developing some of the most talented players in England. In fact, the current Spurs squad is filled with a good number of such players and the trend seems to continue with Harry Winks making his presence felt in the first-team last season.
However, towards the end of the campaign, one name burst onto the scene. Reo Griffiths rose to widespread fame as Tottenham U18 side beat the Arsenal U18s by a margin of 9 goals.
The youngster scored 4 goals and chipped in with 3 assists, meaning he was involved in more than half of the goals scored. That speaks volumes about his talent and skill in front of the net.
While the world revelled in his brilliance, there was a cause of concern for Tottenham. The player’s contract was set to expire this summer and he had already attracted attention from a few clubs. But Griffiths recently put pen to paper on a new deal, thus extending his stay at North London.
As expected, our fans were overjoyed on Twitter and here are some of the best reactions:

Fantastic news if we've secured the Reo Griffiths contract. Can't afford to be letting our brightest prospects move on so early, hopefully he continues his development enough to merit some first team chances.

Reo Griffiths signs new deal. Look out for him. Needs to be our second striker already. Potential.
