Real Madrid is the latest Spanish club interested in the services of our Danish star Christian Eriksen, according to reports from Spain.
Don Balon (h/t The Express) claims that Florentino Perez wants to bring the Dane to Madrid and will send Gareth Bale in his place.
Bale struggled to hold a starting place last season for the Champions League winners but he scored a brace against Liverpool in the final.
The report also claims that Eriksen is valued at €140m while Bale is a more costly player. However, Perez is still willing to make a straight swap amidst interest from another La Liga side. Barcelona have kept tabs on the 26-year-old Eriksen and see him as the perfect replacement for Andres Iniesta.
Eriksen was one of the star players for us last season as he scored 10 times and assisted another 10 in the Premier League.
Losing the 26-year-old would be a big blow given that he is perfectly suited to our playing style and it will be difficult to replace the Dane all that easily.
While Barcelona and Madrid can fight it out for Eriksen, it might increase his valuation, which could get Daniel Levy interested.
Nevertheless, we have a great team at the moment and with the likes of Eriksen, Harry Kane and Dele Alli on our side, there is a chance of us achieving great things.
Mauricio Pochettino also might not want to lose one of his stars to sign Bale right now.
