Tottenham fans will be cheering Harry Kane on as he leads the English charge at the World Cup, however, a number of fans will be supporting Son Heung-min, Christian Eriksen, Davinson Sanchez and the likes as they look to perform well in Russia.
However, there are a number of squad members who will not be playing in Russia and Football.London reports what these players will be planning to do before the start of the upcoming season.
Lots of hard work ahead for Spurs players
With pre-season training starting from 2 July, many of our stars who are not travelling to Russia such as Lucas Moura, Ben Davies, Victor Wanyama and the likes have only a few weeks to get back to the club.
The upcoming campaign will be huge for players such as Wanyama, Erik Lamela and Harry Winks, who all had injury concerns throughout last season.
In fact, Moussa Sissoko, who got a fair number of games for us last season was reportedly seen in his training gear while on holiday in Senegal.
Winks, however, is expected to return to Hotspur Way earlier than Lamela and Wanyama as he looks to meet with the medical team. Our South American contingent of Lucas, Lamela and Juan Foyth have been enjoying their holidays.
The futures of some players might be decided in the coming weeks too as Fernando Llorente, Vincent Janssen and Georges-Kevin Nkoudou haven’t really done much since joining the side.
Young players such as Josh Onomah and Cameron Carter-Vickers might be chomping at the bit to impress Mauricio Pochettino after spending parts of last season on loan. They will look to play a bigger role for the side next season.
It is going to be an important summer for a number of our players and hopefully, all of them come back fit and healthy for the start of the season.
