Bad news for Tottenham as London duo enters the race for £40m-rated star

Tottenham are set to face competition from Chelsea and West Ham for the services of Jack Grealish, according to The Telegraph.

The report claims that Aston Villa have to raise close to £50million through player sales in the next two transfer windows and are resigned to losing stars such as Grealish and Jonathan Kodjia.

The failure to reach the Premier League has had a huge say in Villa’s fate and Spurs are interested in the 22-year-old midfielder. The report also claims that we are set to test Villa’s resilience by bidding £15m for Grealish but the club wants a lot more.

The Villans are looking at close to £40m for the Englishman but it is unlikely that any club would be paying that big for the Championship star.

Grealish scored 3 goals and provided 6 assists for the Villans last season as they were beaten by Fulham in the playoffs.

Competition for Grealish is not good for Spurs

While the Englishman would be a decent signing for £15m, the likes of West Ham and Chelsea coming into the fray to sign him is not good news for us.

The more interest Villa get for their midfielder, the worse it would be as it could lead to a bidding war between the three sides.

Hopefully, Mauricio Pochettino and the rest of the Spurs team can work hard and bring the talented midfielder to the club.

Grealish might not start every game for us but working under Pochettino could help him get better and with us giving chances to youngsters such as Harry Winks and Kyle Walker-Peters in recent seasons, Grealish could play a lot of games for us in the upcoming campaign.
