Good news for Tottenham as attacker delivers positive update about his future at the club

Fernando Llorente

Fernando Llorente has spoken out about his future and it seems like the former Swansea striker is going to stay at Tottenham next season.

The 33-year-old did not score a ton of goals for us last season as he bagged only five in all competitions but the Spanish striker seems to be happy at Spurs.

Llorente was speaking to Mundo Deportivo (h/t Football.london) and was quoted as saying:

“I have no offers from any club in Spain or anywhere else and I will continue at Tottenham where I have one more year of contract.

“I am very happy with the Premier League. It’s a spectacular championship, with an impressive atmosphere and I’m very happy to be living this experience.”

The 33-year-old also added that Mauricio Pochettino might find it difficult to leave Tottenham even after a lot of attention from Real Madrid early on in the season.

While Llorente might not have scored in double digits, he still could do a job for us when we need a bit of a battering ram in the attack.

The 33-year-old played a number of games last season but we tried to play it the Tottenham way in those games and did not cross the ball into the box.

Hopefully, we will be able to keep the Spaniard and utilise him well next season. The 33-year-old would not be starting too many games for us with Harry Kane in the side but Llorente does not seem to be complaining, so he should do the job of a backup striker well for now.

The only thing we would want is more goals from the Spaniard and in his second season at the club, that should be his target.
