Tottenham face a race against time to get their stadium up and ready after a major problem was found with nearly 15,000 seats having to be replaced.
The Sun reports that these seats in the now £1billion new stadium did not feature a pigment that would make them durable in harsh weather conditions.
The workers were supposed to add the pigment to the club’s colours and paint them onto the seats but forgot about it. Now the seats will fall apart in a few months and also the paint would fade away.
One insider at the club was also quoted by the Sun as saying that this isn’t the club’s fault but Certwood would be working hard to ensure there are no more delays.
“The contractor was very sheepish about their blunder and will be working around the clock to ensure there are no further time delays.
“The fault was with the back of the seat and the padding. They were not fit for purpose.”
The contract for this job was worth an estimated £10million but a Spurs spokesperson added that the club would be ready for the first home game at our new home against Liverpool.
Even Certwood’s spokesperson was trying to calm people down by saying that the firm would meet the timelines for the new stadium’s completion.
“The problem was identified internally. THFC have been provided with replacements and there are no delays in the delivery, build or opening of the new stadium resulting from this.”

This was one of the fears as we were working on very tight timelines for the launch of our new stadium and hopefully, we will not have any delays with regards to the stadium.
