Tottenham have lined up new agreements with a number of players and will look to finalise them after the World Cup, according to football.london.

The big deals were regarding the futures of Mauricio Pochettino and Harry Kane and the report suggests that stars Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen have provisionally agreed to new terms but the World Cup has delayed the completion of the formalities.

Additionally, a number of other players are set to sign new deals. Jan Vertonghen, Eric Dier, Hugo Lloris and Son Heung-min are expected to extend their stay at the club. However, the issue regarding Son’s military service for South Korea is a complication for the side.

Another pair that has done exceptionally well last season, Ben Davies and Kieran Trippier, are also expected to be given new contracts since they are the first-choice options for their positions respectively.

A number of young players had already signed new deals at the club before the start of the World Cup, with Cameron Carter-Vickers, Kyle Walker-Peters, Harry Winks and Davinson Sanchez guaranteeing their future at Tottenham.

We also saw Michel Vorm’s contract get extended by an additional year, a clause in his deal that we exercised.

Happy players will lead to a great season

Keeping our stars at the club is the most important action that we can take as we look to win trophies at our new home.

Kane and Pochettino signing new deals was big but ensuring that other players stayed back to support the duo is just as important and these new deals should also fend off interest from other clubs looking to sign our players.

This does seem like a great time for Spurs and the best way to celebrate this would be a few years of success with Kane and Pochettino leading the way.
