The 24-year-old has struggled to make an impact at Barcelona ever since making the switch from Valencia and is reportedly interested in moving to the Premier League.
Gomes has played 78 games for the Catalan giants in his time at the club but has only scored three goals and provided four assists.
The Portugal star could turn out to be our first signing of the summer, which is in stark contrast to what the Gunners are doing as they have signed a number of players. Unai Emery has been busy in the market and is completely overhauling the Gunners ahead of the Premier League campaign.
It would be a bit of a blow for us to lose out on Gomes, especially if our rivals pick him up. Gomes might not have performed well for Barcelona but he does have potential and could be a decent signing for us on the cheap.
