Fenerbahce have emerged as the latest club interested in signing Mousa Dembele from Tottenham, according to Fanatik (h/t Turkish Football).
The report claims that the club have made a number of changes since new president Ali Koc took over, and more changes are expected in the coming weeks. They have Damien Comolli as part of their organization and the former Tottenham man wants to raid his ex-club.
Comolli has reportedly identified the midfielder as a priority target this summer and the Frenchman hopes that his relationship with Tottenham will help him land the 31-year-old.
Dembele has been linked with a move away from the club since the end of last season and Inter Milan are also interested in the Belgian star.
The 31-year-old did have a decent end to the campaign as his national team came third in the World Cup after defeating England.
Dembele started two games and made a couple of substitute appearances in the World Cup but Tottenham must make the most of the situation and sell him due to his age and high wages.
The Belgian has just one year left on his contract and it makes sense to sell him now while we can still get something for the 31-year-old.
It would be great if we can keep Dembele for another season as he is a world-class player every time he steps onto the pitch. However, due to the rigours of the Premier League, he only started 27 league games for us the last term.
Sending him off to Turkey would not be a bad move. The Turkish league is not as tough as the Premier League and with Comolli in the management, Fenerbahce seems like the ideal club for Dembele.
