Tottenham’s hopes of signing £45m target is in danger

published :

One of Tottenham’s targets for the season, Malcom, is reportedly in advanced talks with Everton over a move to the Premier League, according to Sky Sports.

The Brazilian winger had been linked with a move to Spurs but it seems Marco Silva is leading the race for the 21-year-old winger.

The report claims that Stephane Martin, the Bordeaux chairman, will meet Everton representatives to complete a deal. The move for Malcom could cost £30m with further add-ons and the player could earn £80,000-a-week.

The Ligue 1 club had signed Malcom in 2016 but he has been one of their best players since joining the side. Bordeaux had refused to sell the star winger in the winter window while we were interested in him in January too.

Malcom scored 12 goals and provided 7 assists for the Ligue 1 side last season and could have been a decent option for us as we look to open our transfer buys.

Spurs haven’t been able to bring in new players to the club yet and losing Malcom would be a bit of a kick in the teeth given that we have tracked the Brazilian for a while.

Mauricio Pochettino and the team have to step up their efforts if we are to sign anyone as the transfer window ends on 9th August.

It could be a tough season for us if we don’t bring new players in, as many of our rivals are already strengthening their sides.
