Tottenham linked with surprise move for world-class attacker – report

published :

Tottenham is the latest club to be linked with a move for Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuain, according to Italian newspaper Corriere Della Sera.

The report claims that Juventus need to raise some funds after signing Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid, and the Argentine striker is a player they are willing to let go.

The 30-year-old has scored goals wherever he has gone and he did do the same for Juventus as he knocked in 23 goals for the Serie A side last season.

There is some interest from two other clubs for the striker as Chelsea and AC Milan are keeping tabs on the 30-year-old. However, the report also goes on to say that not a single club has made a move to sign the striker.

Higuain isn’t someone who we would associate with a move to Tottenham given his age and the fact that he would cost a bomb.

The Argentine would not be willing to play second fiddle to Harry Kane either. The Englishman would be our main striker and we need someone who can do the job when the striker is rested for some of the games.

While Higuain is a fox in the box and someone we could use, the deal would be tough for all parties to complete. Spurs will not be willing to pay a crazy amount and the Premier League might be a tough competition for the Argentine to crack.

We are desperate to bring in new players but the last thing we would need is an expensive signing that won’t be able to do the job this season.
