Pochettino shifts his focus away from £70m Premier League star to pursue French attacker – report

Tottenham Hotspur have failed in a bid to land Manchester United forward Anthony Martial on loan.
Wilfried Zaha

Wilfried Zaha’s future at Crystal Palace is in doubt as the Daily Star claims the 25-year-old wants to leave the Eagles. It was Zaha’s form that kept Palace in the Premier League last season but the club have slapped a price tag of £70m to prevent other clubs signing him up.

Tottenham were reportedly interested in the player but Football.london claims that Mauricio Pochettino is not looking to buy the winger this summer.

Tottenham are not willing to meet the asking price and the report claims that Pochettino wants Anthony Martial of Manchester United.

Martial also has been linked with a move away from United in recent weeks and he would be a better signing than Zaha.

Yes, Zaha has a lot of experience in the Premier League but Martial is someone who can grow more under Pochettino and he might cost less than what the Eagles are looking for Zaha.

The transfer window is open for a few weeks more but Tottenham have yet to bring in new faces to the club. This would be a concern for many as we have grown into challengers for major honours.

However, by not adding more quality to the side, we could be left behind by the other clubs, some of whom have spent a lot of money already.
