Tottenham have backed out of a deal for Wilfried Zaha as Crystal Palace are demanding £75million for their winger, according to the Mirror.
The report claims that even though Mauricio Pochettino was interested in bringing the 25-year-old to Tottenham, the club are not willing to match Palace’s valuation of the Ivory Coast international. Tottenham backing out of a move for Zaha has opened the door for Chelsea, the Mirror claims.
Zaha scored 9 goals and provided 3 assists for the Eagles as he helped them stave off relegation. However, the 25-year-old rejected a £125,000-a-week new contract from the club despite signing a £100,000-a-week deal with the side a year ago.
The report further claims that Zaha is ready for a new challenge and does not want to stay at Palace. The 25-year-old is also keen to join Chelsea (h/t The Mirror) as the club are unsure about the future of their Brazilian winger Willian.
The asking price for Zaha isn’t cheap and even though he is a good player by Premier League standards, it would be tough for him to usurp any attacker from our starting XI.
Zaha did not do well at Manchester United and the Ivorian was shipped back to Palace after failing to light up Old Trafford.

It will be interesting to see where Zaha ends up before the season starts as the transfer deadline ends on 9th August. But it looks unlikely he would be wearing the white of Tottenham.
