Tottenham star trains at French club led by Arsenal legend, ahead of England return

Hugo Lloris

According to a report by Football London, Tottenham Hotspur captain Hugo Lloris is currently utilising the facilities at Ligue 1 outfit Nice, which is managed by Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira.

Vieira has replaced Lucien Favre as Nice’s coach and it remains to be seen how he fares in the French top-flight. However, this does seem like a rare but interesting Arsenal-Tottenham moment.

Although opening the doors of one’s training facility to a compatriot is not a big deal, in this case, it is. Arsenal and Tottenham share one of the biggest rivalries in the world of football and it is one that has continued for years. Both clubs are based in north London and it is unsurprising to note the level of competition between the two.

Lloris recently won the World Cup with France in Russia and since then, he has been on a well-deserved break. Currently spending time in the south of his country, the talented goalkeeper is working on his fitness ahead of joining Tottenham.

A coach from our club has accompanied him and the 31-year-old has been utilising the gym and other training facilities at Nice.

Lloris must get back to north London soon enough as the Premier League season will get underway next weekend. Tottenham have a crucial campaign ahead and it is great to see Lloris working towards maintaining his fitness. After all, a good number of our first-team stars were a part of their respective World Cup squads and if we are to taste success next season, we will need every single one of them to be in good shape.
