Harry Winks and Erik Lamela of Tottenham

Mauricio Pochettino spoke about a few players that could not play a part in our win over Newcastle United. Harry Winks and Erik Lamela have returned to training, according to Football.london, and Pochettino was quoted by the outlet as saying:

“Still one training session tomorrow and then to make the decision.

“But happy because Erik Lamela is back again, Josh Onomah and Harry Winks.”

The manager also gave an update on another player coming back from an injury, Josh Onomah.

“We’re a bit disappointed about Josh because he was injured in the summer and could not play one game and train with the first team through the whole pre-season.”

“He’s a little bit behind the rest but we’re working and I’m going to decide if he’s a player that can stay with us or maybe if we believe he can play more, to find maybe some alternative for him to play more than last season.”

Football.london further added that Tottenham don’t have many options for the midfield and Winks returning to training is a boost for the side.

The report added that Lamela could find a place on the bench as Son Heung-min left the side to participate in the Asian Games with South Korea.

The duo will certainly increase our options for the coming weeks and with the club not signing new players, their return could not have come at a better time.

Tottenham’s next clash is against Fulham and I expect three points when we face the newly promoted side.

We won our first game of the season and with more training for Harry Kane and the other World Cup stars, a better performance against the Cottagers is a must.
