Georges-Kevin N’Koudou is close to joining Ligue 1 side St. Etienne according to France Football (h/t The Sun). The report claims that 23-year-old would join on loan with the Ligue 1 side having an option to buy.
The 23-year-old spent time on loan at Burnley last season but didn’t really star for the Clarets. The French winger joined Tottenham from Marseille in 2016 for £11m (h/t The Sun) but has failed to cement a spot in the starting XI.
N’Koudou was also linked with a move to Bundesliga club Mainz but the player turned it down as he wanted a move to St. Etienne, according to the Sun.
The French winger did have a decent pre-season for us as he impressed in the match against AC Milan and Barcelona. The Sun adds that the former France youth international wants first-team football to help his development.
N’Koudou has scored just one goal for us, which came in the Champions League, despite playing in 23 games across two seasons.
The Frenchman played eight games at Burnley but he failed to get on the scoring charts. The 23-year-old would not get a lot of playing time if he stays at Tottenham and a move away from the club would be the right call by the player.

The transfer window is still open for Spurs to make sales and N’Koudou’s departure would not have a negative impact on our starting XI.
