Mauricio Pochettino is said to be unhappy with the news of Hugo Lloris’ arrest for drink driving, as per the Daily Star.
The report adds that the Tottenham boss is contemplating stripping Lloris of the club captaincy after the keeper was arrested in the early hours of Friday morning. The report further claims that any decision would be taken by Pochettino after listening to Lloris’ version of the events.
Lloris did issue an apology where he took complete responsibility for his actions (h/t Daily Star):
“I wish to apologise wholeheartedly to my family, the Club, my team-mates, the manager and all of the supporters.
“Drink driving is completely unacceptable, I take full responsibility for my actions and it is not the example I wish to set.”
The report adds that the Spurs man was apparently dining with fellow French Premier League stars Olivier Giroud and Laurent Koscielny at a Mayfair restaurant.
The player then failed a breathalyser when he was stopped by a police patrol in central London, as per the report.
The Tottenham fans came out to share their reactions to this news. Some of them were unimpressed while a few voiced their support for the club captain.
if he wasn’t breaking curfew he should only be punished once (captaincy or dropped) not both. If he was he cops both

id give it to Harry Kane and make Jan Vertonghen vice captain.

What we all thinking about the Lloris situation then? I’m not gonna back him. He’s a bloody idiot. But do we really risk him being dropped at Old Trafford? Tough one. We need our best! #Coys

No. Don’t drop him that’s ridiculous. Firmino wasn’t dropped when he did it. So why make ourselves weaker?!

Drop him, his heads not gonna be in the right place if he plays, already unreliable as it is. I’d play gazza

Don’t know enough details to decide, but I’ll back him whatever

Droping Lloris will make our situation even worse, fine him wages or whatever or slap a just general fine but I hope we don’t drop him for Monday.
Massive massive game for our season against United#COYS against all odds!

The club should show a zero tolerance policy towards Lloris & his actions & definitely fine him. The captaincy call should be left in the hands of Pochettino & I trust that whatever he decides will be the correct decision #COYS

Hugo Lloris would of been the last person I would of thought would be charged with drink driving. Disgusting. Especially after the summer he had and being club captain. So so stupid. #COYS
