Tottenham star Harry Kane has claimed that not signing fresh faces in the offseason proves Mauricio Pochettino believes in the current crop of players.

Spurs became the first team to not sign any players in the history of the summer window but Kane provided a positive outlook.

The Englishman scored in our 3-0 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford and was quoted by the Express as saying:

“A lot has been said about transfers or the lack of them but there is something to be said about keeping the group together.”

The England captain added that the team has to repay the faith the manager and the club have shown in them by not adding to the squad.

“The gaffer said he’s not just going to bring in players for the sake of it. What that does is give the rest of the squad huge belief because it shows he has belief in us. Now we have to repay him and the repay the club for that. That’s what happens.”

Tottenham are one of four teams tied on nine points after three Premier League games. While we had a bit of a slow start in our first game against Newcastle United, we were brilliant at Old Trafford on Monday night.

Despite failing to bring in fresh faces, Spurs have looked as good as they did last season. Moura scored a brace in the win over United and Kane concluded with praise for the hard work put in by the Brazilian.

“He’s stayed, he’s worked hard, he’s done well, he’s deserved his place in the team and that’s what it’s about.”

Our next clash is against Watford on Sunday and it will be another tough game with both teams on nine points so far.
