Chinese club Beijing Sinobo Guoan are hopeful of signing Mousa Dembele from Tottenham in the January transfer window, according to the Sun.

The report claims the club tried to sign the Belgian last February during the Chinese transfer window but failed to do so.

Tottenham refused to sell the midfielder then but Dembele’s reluctance to sign a new deal could see them part with the player as per the report.

The report adds that Tottenham would be looking for £8million to £10million for the 31-year-old. Dembele would also earn £192,000 a week on a three-year deal at the club, as per the report.

Guoan currently tops the Chinese Super League and have former Bayer Leverkusen manager Roger Schmidt as their manager.

Mousa Dembele

Dembele has featured in our opening three matches of the Premier League season and has looked in decent form after a fantastic World Cup.

The 31-year-old seems to be doing pretty well for Spurs but he would be a free agent at the end of the season, as per the Sun.

Selling him for a small amount would be a smart move to gain some funds but keeping him in the side also makes sense as he is one of the best players in his position.

It will be interesting what happens to the Belgian in the winter window. Tottenham didn’t sign any players in the summer and losing a quality player without replacing him could be a problem in the latter stages of the season.
